I have been looking at these locally with John. I've already looked through this stuff a while ago and it looked fine to me.

The item with custom completion is a bit specific to some commands John has, but seems innocuous enough for anyone not using it.

Thanks for looking into this. I had so far no time to do it.

There is one thing unclear to me. The new features, or some of the new
features require a recent Matlab version? I only have a stable access to
R2010. I could temporarily access R2016 but for everyday work this is a
bit a pain due to network connections in our university.
